<image:title>Home - It all started with the McBaine Bur Oak.</image:title>
<image:caption>This is the McBaine Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa) https://missourilife.com/bur-oak-beauty-2/. It is located along the Katy Trail in Boone County, Missouri. It is the largest Bur Oak in the State of Missouri, one of the top 3 largest Bur Oaks in the United States—and it is one of the main reasons that I am in Urban Forestry today. While in Forestry School at the University of Missouri - Columbia I spent many weekends along the Trail. Back before the tree became more well known it had branches that would droop to near the ground and my friends and I would climb up into the tree and sit and enjoy nature. The McBaine Bur Oak was the reason I made a career out of saving trees, and is the inspiration for Ulrich Tree Care’s logo. My journey started in 1985, and this tree still amazes me to this day. <image:title>Our Story - Chuck and Megan met in Forestry School at University of Missouri - Columbia in 1983. After graduation they moved to the Kansas City area and married in 1987. Chuck worked for two established tree services in the area for 17 years until moving his family to Tulsa in 2002 to open a branch office of another local tree company. In 2006 Megan joined as Office Manager and “Manager of First Impressions”. In 2021 both came to the decision to start their own company, providing quality tree services for residential clients, commercial businesses, and municipalities in the Tulsa Metro area. In 2022 Chuck sat for, and passed the International Society of Arboriculture Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) test. He became the 1st BCMA in the entire Eastern Oklahoma area (including the Tulsa Metro area) and is currently 1 of only 7 BCMAs in the entire State. Chuck and Megan have lived in Broken Arrow for over 20 years and enjoy spending time with their kids, grandkids, and church family.</image:title>

<image:caption>When you Google “Tree Service Near Me” there will be scores of tree services that pop up on your screen. How do you know which one to choose? Will they be knowledgeable about what and where to cut on that prized tree in your front yard? Will they leave your shrubs looking like an uneven sculpture of vertical sticks?</image:caption>

While we don't do any installations, we will offer free advice on what plants we think will look good, be low maintenance, and will thrive in our Oklahoma climate.</image:caption>

<image:caption>PLANTING A TREE TOO DEEPLY. This tree was installed way too deep when it was planted. Planting a tree too deeply will cause the trunk of the tree to rot due to excessive moisture as well as causing the root system to be depleted of adequate oxygen levels.</image:caption>

<image:caption>LEAVING GUY WIRES ATTACHED TO THE TRUNK. Staking and guy wires are an important step when installing new trees because it gives the tree needed support to keep it from falling over in a strong wind until the root system has time to expand into the surrounding soil and stabilize the entire tree. But if left on the tree too long, the wires will cut into the expanding tree trunk - girdling the tree and restricting the flow cycle of nutrients and water from the root system to the canopy</image:caption>
